Alta Video — 1618: Creating an invalid webhook could affect access to all other webhooks

Overview

A vulnerability was discovered in the Alta Video platform related to webhook creation. The "headers" field was not properly sanitised during the creation of a webhook, allowing for the injection of invalid JSON into the webhook configuration. As a result, subsequent requests for the webhook returned malformed JSON, which in turn impacted the platform's ability to parse and manage other webhooks.

• Alta Video:
  • All Stable upgrade channel versions before 7.0.8.
  • All Beta upgrade channel versions before 7.0.8.

Unaffected Products

• Alta Video:

  • All Stable upgrade channel versions after and including 7.0.8.
  • All Beta upgrade channel versions after and including 7.0.8.

• Avigilon Cloud-Native Cameras: all versions.

• Alta Video Cloud: all versions.

Resolution

This issue has been fixed in Alta Video Beta upgrade channel version 7.0.8 and Stable upgrade channel version 7.0.8.

It is strongly recommended that all installations running an affected version are upgraded to the latest release as soon as possible. Releases are available to download through the Alta Video User Interface.
